For those out there in the tech world, where is the best place to go about getting information on the main certs, like A+ and MSCE?

  • #2
    The main websites!
    www.comptia.org is where you'll find A+ , Net+, Sec+, Linux+ .....yadda yadda..

www.microsoft.com is where you'll see what you need for an MCSE.

FWIW: Get the A + and Net+ before attempting to do the MCSE if you don't work much with server environments. The A+ can cover one of the 7? tests needed for the MCSE.

Books and tutorials can be found all over the internet, I usually get books @ Amazon.com and buy the Used versions

Experience can never replace a cert. Certs will SUPPLEMENT experience. Get both.

Wow, i was never told the A+ covered one of the tests for MCSE, but it was what almost 5 years ago when i was trying for my MCSE.

Begs to question, are A+ certs good for life?

That's a little ridiculous considering how much technology changes... but had I gotten any certs, I wouldn't complain. I'm not sure I'll need them, but if it will get me more money, sign me up!
