I use Open Office.org Writer for all my writing needs, and my problem, while not huge, is driving me nuts. I can't get the default formatting to stay customized. Every time I open it I have to reset the format to the way I like it. I've come to the conclusion that a permanent change is either a)impossible or b) mind bogglingly obvious. As I am perfectly capable of losing something I am holding in my hand, I figured I'd ask here for help before I give up.

Search the help index using for templates and check default templates, all the destructions are there. At least in in version 2.4.0ludo ergo sumComment

Actually, look up your styles. I don't have the time to provide a detailed answer, but you want to change your default styles, not just your regular styles. If this isn't enough, I'll be providing a better answer in a few hours (sorry, taking care of some home stuff first!).Comment
