So, you all should remember the conundrum with my purchase of a new video card.
Well, I finally got it, and then realized that my USB just.. didn't want to run. If I was persistent, and kept plugging and unplugging my drive in, it would eventually take, or say it malfunctioned.
So I figured I was right at the edge of what I needed on the PSU side of things, and after a huge payoff on a side job, I ran intoWonderLand Best Buy, and picked me up a new PSU.
My old one was 300 watts. My new one... 650w. Why, yes, I DO believe in overkill, why do you ask?
I had a little bit of trouble installing it. They hid the main mobo connection in with the SATA connections, and I almost thought the 24 pin connection wasn't there. I was contemplating taking it back when I found it.
So far, I was able to get my drive to connect first time, but it was late and I haven't had much chance to play with it yet.
I just had to brag.. go me.
And, yes, I know that installing a PSU isn't much to brag about, but I was really nervous about blowing up my system while installing one that wasn't sent from the manufacturer (i.e. replacement part). So, I'm happy and proud that my system still works.
And, by the way, when I gave the guy back his computer (with a $140 bill), he gave me another PC to work on.
