  • Corrupted Shortcut?

I had this pop up at work last night and I was mostly wondering if anyone else had ever seen it.

Someone went to open a program using a shortcut on the desktop, and got an error along the lines of "initialization driver cannot be found." When she opened the program through the Start button, it worked just fine. We deleted the shortcut and created a new one, and now the new shortcut is working just fine.

Anyone seen this or know why it might have happened?

I dunno, but this used to happen at my Rez job all the time with a program that was stored on a server, rather than on the computer itself. Usually the cause was an interruption in the connection while turning the computer on (or logging on), and the shortcut's path wasn't valid at time of start up, so it reassigned itself to whatever was closest.
    Ba'al: I'm a god. Gods are all-knowing.
