Is there a way to see when a document was made?

I got sent a .doc (MS Word document) file in an email and I was wondering if there was a way I could see when it was made.

Sure, I can save it and then right click - properties but that will only show the day I saved it as the creation date.

I do have Office 2007 if that is needed.

Edit: found it. In Office 2007, click the Office button then prepare.

Select properties and click on advanced properties.
