    Just to throw my 2 cents in, I actually got a pretty good deal back when HDTVs were expensive, and got a 42" Bravia for less than equivalent TVs (size and quality). Back when the better quality 42" tvs were $1800 or so, I got mine for $1300, and I've loved it since. Granted, this was back before 120Hz tvs were on the market, before most things supported HDMI, before the cable co in my area offered HD video, and if you had anything older than a few months old, you had an older HDMI spec.

    Things definitely could have changed since, but I still love my Bravia.

    Me: Gentoo.
    Coworker: Ahh. A Masochist. I thought so.

      LED and LCD are mutually exclusive(two separate technologies-think digital and analog)

      LED=Light emitting Diode
      LCD=liquid crystal display
      To rephrase what shadow said, "LED LCD" means "LCD panel with an LED backlight", which is distinct from OLED and LED array displays, neither of which are practical (yet) for use in consumer TVs. (OLED doesn't scale well above 12" or so; full-color LED array displays are BIG, starting at a few tens of feet and going skyward fast.)
