  • More on video editing

Okay, I made the discovery - and I have no idea why I didn't realize it before - that I actually HAVE Adobe Premiere Pro.

    Right.

So, I've just been watching video tutorials on editing, and I'm a little stuck as concerns sound. I have succeeded in adding the soundtrack to my video, but now, in the video editing screen, I can only see the wave image of the soundtrack. I still need to edit the clips. What's the best way to do this? I need the soundtrack in order to edit; I can't add it later.

    It gets weirder.

When I view a clip in the window, the motion is often at double speed, while the ambient sound (including us talking) is at regular speed. Sometimes, the image goes from positive to negative. What the hell is happening here?

And now, despite the fact that I've installed two hefty codec packs AND run them through GSpot, the .avi files STILL won't work, and the others won't play at all. I do not know what to do.

I don't know where to go from here; I really don't.

I've been working on editing it in Windows Movie Maker, but it only last for about half an hour before it starts screwing up on me. It crashes, Premiere Pro crashes, Premiere Pro won't play the video right if at all - what is to be done?

            dumb question time:
have you searched on google? That's what many techs do for computer problems, because, frequently, others have had the same problem.
Have you called a support line? Yeah, that way lays madness... but maybe they can help?

              I finished it.

After I-don't-know-how-long, all those Internet searches, and a huge amount of obscene language, it is finished.

I still have to unsnarl the problems in the programs, but this one, finally, is done.

Oh God, back it up twice in different formats before it disintegrates! O____O

now, go do something fun and mindless. glad it's over, mostly!

                  I sent the video.

Person for whom I did the video is very very happy.

Person for whom I did the video also says we need to re-record the sound.

Excuse me while I crawl under the bed and scream very loudly.
