  • Good free video programs

I'm not sure of the name for the type of program i want. I want a program that will take a video, allow me to cut it into smaller videos, add effects, subtitles, sounds, etc. that is relatively easy to use.

Laso it must be able to slow down the video to 1/2 speed if possible.

    Anyone have any recommendations?

I'm not sure if it'll do all of what you're after, but I'm pretty sure DVDSoft does some video editing software, and I've loved using the suite -> www.dvdvideosoft.com/
    Hope this helps!

Okay, first of all a couple of questions,

      Mac Or PC?
Which version of Windows/OSX are you running?
What sort of budget do you have?
What sort of video, ie is it HD and what source is it coming from?
Is the video already on the computer or will the software need to pull it off a video camera etc?

I'm really not good with this sort of stuff but the answers to the above should help narrowing down for you. AFAIK if you are using a modern Mac most of what you need should already be there with iMovie/iDVD/Quicktime, on Windows "Movie maker" might also help.
