I read this article, and couldn't help but think two things:

1. If you need to worry about money for dining out, you shouldn't be doing it. Maybe this'll cause wank, but I'm very much against spending money you don't have.

2. The author's suggestions are incredibly, mind-blowingly tacky. Maybe restaurants allow you to bring your own wine, but that's not to say you should.

Where I live, the owner of the restaurant would be extremely insulted if you did any of these things.
