My sympathies. Alzheimer's always sucks, but especially for the folks who've known the victim all their lives. -
I have seen how ugly that can be. Dementia took my mother.

Thanks, guys. We're not even sure it's Alzheimer's, although the devil's disease does run in our family. Barb has had two major brain injuries, it might be that.

My sympathies. A bit of advise: Get her affairs in order now, including a will, power of attorney, asset inventory, funeral arrangements and medical decision making. Be prepared for years of difficulty.I'm trying to see things from your point of view, but I can't get my head that far up my keister!

It's all been taken care of. Her husband has had everything in hand since Barb quit being able to speak clearly.
There IS some relatively good news. Apparently at least some of the recent difficulty was due to a bad reaction to an antibiotic she was on for her kidneys. They've changed it now, and there's been an improvement. She'll never be 'neuronormal' again, we know that, but . . . Improvement . . .Comment
