A customer came through my line today. She used to own a small restaurant where the food was awesome. After a few years she decided to switch out the restaurant for a bakery.
She had just got the bakery off the ground when COVID hit.
She opted to shut the doors because she did not want to risk contagion ... especially as one of the workers was her pregnant daughter.
So I asked her today how things were going.
Well, the baby is now five months old.
And her daughter is struggling with brain cancer.
