You like Halo. That puts you a hell of a lot lower higher on the totem pole than someone who likes Pokemon.
    C.F.T. -- Corrected For Truth!

Let's compare the 2 franchises and determine which one is really worse, shall we?

Halo: Tells the story of a genetically-engineered, cybernetically-enhanced, armored super soldier who bravely defends Earth and its colonies against a hostile extraterrestrial invasion. One installment tells a side story, about a "Rookie" Orbital Drop Shock Trooper that gets separated from his unit during the extraterrestrial invasion of Earth.

Pokémon: Teaches kids to go around capturing rare animals, and then make them FIGHT EACH OTHER IN AN ARENA, in a so-called "sport" that is suspiciously similar to cock fighting and dog fighting, 2 "sports" that are ILLEGAL in the United States of America!

Gee, I really don't know which one of those is sending the worst message to the youth of America. I just can't figure it out.

          Ok chill peoples.

Pokemon - Not my cup of tea, but, some people like it
Halo - Awesome sauce and all, but, some people also don't like it.

Everyone will like and rank games differently, and one person isn't more right or wrong than the other. Racing vs RPG vs FPS etc.

*takes off not a mod hat*

Oh and Rayven - In the UNSC's defense, some were orphans :P
And on a technicality, none are KIA. Always laughed at that, the ultimate denial.

Not everyone is going to like every game. Play nice, or all deathmatch you all in Quake

                • Halo: Tells a laughably generic story for an incredibly generic shooter whose popularity continues to utterly baffle me and seems to be due entirely to the fact the console crowd has never played an FPS before. Or has completely forgotten Goldeneye. You'll note that the PC crowd generally gives a flaming rat's ass about Halo.

Pokemon: Commercially speaking, its approaching evil empire standards, but at least its original. The characters focus on positive messages like friendship and sportsmanship. The game's are well designed and enjoyable enough even for older players. The violence is cartoony and non lethal.

You can't figure it out because the youth of America shouldn't be playing Halo. It's rated M. Your point is invalid. ;p

If they're getting a message from it, it's "My parents are failing".

That was the Spartan III's who were all orphans. (Who were chosen because they were basically enhanced suicide squads)

All II's are listed as MIA, for morale purposes. Though only a few are actually MIA, Fred, Kelly, Linda, John, Alice and all of Grey Team.

Spartans may be cool and all, but they ain't no Space Marines

                    • Anybody else here play EVE Online?

I am one of those evil 0.0 dwellers in an alliance that gets into huge fights over territory - 28 of the hundred or so titans in the entire universe along with several hundred fighters on each side of the argument ...
EVE Online: 99% of the time you sit around waiting for something to happen, but that 1% of action is what hooks people like crack, you don't get interviewed by the BBC for a WoW raid.

I <3 older strategy games for my netbook since it easily runs them and they're great for the quiet hours at work. All of the city builders series ( Caesar, Pharaoh, Zeus, Emperor ) are great and having a netbook away from home gives me an excuse to play them. Whereas at home I'm staring at a demigod of a machine with wide screen HD, its hard to justify playing a game older then my nieces on it. -.-

Simcity 3 runs great on it, but Civ 3 I can't get running ( amongst other 2d strategy ). Its too bitchy about resolution and netbooks have odd screen resolutions.

I haven't played SimCity for a long time, I lost interest after SC2000.
However, I'm still playing the original Civilization to this day. Had it on a floppy disk many years ago & currently running it in XP mode on a win 7 machine

Much prefer the older ones to the more recent

Goldeneye! I have a very strong love/hate relationship with that game. Despite the hours and hours I spent with it....never could get past the jungle. But multiplayer mode FTW. I have the N64 with me again....perhaps I should give it another go.
