Ok, the title is incendiary, sorry. It's that sometimes she takes them with her, but there are times she leaves for days and leave the cats outside and I feed them.
But let's start at the beginning.
She moved in over a year ago. She has a young son, he's maybe 4 years old. One time I think someone tried to get in her house so she got a pit bull, the dog is nice. I remember how the dog wasn't house-trained and after 3 days she threw out the carpet.
When she first moved in she had a cat. I diidn't know and one day the cat got out and when I saw the cat I was going door-to-door asking if it's anyone's cat. The neighbor wasn't home at the time so it wasn't until an hour latter the neighbor comes home and I find out it's her cat. Her cat has a folded paw so she moves with 3 feet. She is also pregnant and when she had her kittens at one point the cat got tired of her kittens so the neighbor lets her out more to escape the kittens. Latter on she finds homes for the kittens but keeps one.
After the kittens are weaned, neighbor wants to fix mommy cat and I knew of a service that was free. Since the neighbor works nigths, I said I can take cat to get fixed; she said she will set her alarm to get up early to give me the cat. I get up early, knock on the neighbor's door, but she doesn't answer. Luckily the cat is outdoors so I take her to be fixed. I see the neighbor latter that morning and before I get a chance to tell her the cat should be ready by 1pm, she starts to apologize, saying that she set the alarm but couldn't figure out why she set the alarm and went back to sleep. I tell her I found the cat outside and took her for her appt. (note, if you are wondering, I didn't know if the cat ate after midnight, before her operation). So she picks up cat. She did give me money for taking the cat to the appt (place is run by a charity and is more than 20 miles away).
S0 sometimes she leaves for days (2 or 4 days) and take all the pets, but maybe every 2 or 3 months I see tha cats outside. I feed them. But in general she takes good care of cats. Though earlier sometimes the cats would go in my house to eat and drink and sleep. There past few months they don't. She did ask me what I feed my cats so maybe she bought the same food,
So yesterday I see her and her son outside with a single ferret. She said it was 1/2 off at petco since he was there by himself for months.
The neighbor is nice lady, but I think she shouldn't gotten a ferret. I don't know if she ever thought about getting a ferret, that the animal is a impulse buy. She has everything for the ferret, but she has a young son. Best I can tell the son is not a bad kid but he is a young kid. The cats seem ok but the cats still get neglected at times.
Another story, sometimes she lets the dog outside and she goes back in and lets the dog by herself. Once the dog got spooked and ran off. She came out an hour latter and couldn't find the dog. She did look then place ads in nextdoor and petfinder. Luckily someone found her dog. She still lets dog out to do her business, sometimes she's outside but sometimes she goes back in
