Okay, so my grandiose plan is not feasible.
I will just have to write out the cards and wait for the strike to be over to pop them in the mail.
I dropped into a substation today (located in a local pharmacy so the employees there are pharmacy employees and not Cda. Post employees) and even the drop boxes there are gone, so I can't even put them in the mail now.
So sorry, folks. I hope the admins will forgive me. The cards will be sitting and waiting; at this point that's the best I can do.

About 15 minutes depending on city traffic. But I have no passport so can't cross.

I have postage for days, as usual; Working on the cards in the next few days, probably.

Pixilated All good, it's not your fault; send them when it's doable. We always make allowances for exceptional circumstances, and this is definitely one of them ^_^ I expect that you'll have difficulty receiving ours, as well, so please just let us know when it's all over.

Makes me wonder if we should hold off on sending them to you for the time being? Our postal service is bad enough when it comes to delayed mail; No telling what would happen with this going on.

Oh, the cards will go out, I did sign on ... and I didn't bow out when I had the chance. It's just that you might get them at Easter!
I'll see what I can do about interesting stamps! Won't need a holiday stamp considering the time lapse!
