Gahh. This was a major mistake on my part.
Someone comes into the office, has their appointment, everything is dandy. Makes a follow-up appointment, I give them a reminder card, they leave.
This is pretty standard.
So, being the incredibly new receptionist that I am, what do I do? Well, heere is a list of the mistakes I managed to make in one day:
- 2 people came in with appointment cards saying they were scheduled for the exact same day/time. I had managed to confuse my dates and had scheduled one the day after she was supposed to come
- Someone (a VERY SLOW someone who takes FOREVER to schdule appointments) calls to say I scheduled her appointment much too soon. Ooops. I did. So she takes 15 minutes to set up a new one and I get chastised by bosslady.
- Neglected to clean the rooms I was supposed to take care of.
::sigh:: I'm not stupid, I've just never had a job remotely like this one before. I feel like I should be more grown up!
