  • Well, crap

When we type in prescriptions, pharmacists off site have the opportunity to verify them and send them back. Sometimes this is ok, but in the case of today, there was a pharmacist with his panties in a knot doing it, and kept bouncing them back with imagined issues with them. Now, if they bounce it back with the problem being who the prescription was typed for in the first place, the computer will completely delete the script and ideally, print out a little thingy showing you the scan and who it was typed under in the first place.
Panty-wad Pharmacist kept doing this to scripts in which it was entered CORRECTLY, including one that I'd pulled up from a stored script. Well, it deleted the script, but no page printed out, and for the life of me I could NOT remember the person's complete name or complete date of birth, just what they medicine they got, the first name and the first few letters of their last name, and what date it had been called in in the first place.

I tried to find the original script in the files, no luck. I tried looking up various permutations of the last name, couldn't come up with the correct one. However, I had an absolute stroke of genius, and looked through the deleted script lists from last week. Voila! There she was!

I proceeded to get made fun of for my OCD moment, however, it beat getting one of them yelled at if the patient came back before we could find the script and fill it.
