  • I think I scared a cart associate...

Ok, brief background: I've been moving for three days now, and I'm in a family way , so let's just say when I pulled up to the local Kroger, I was feeling a little tired/hormonal. I'd also spent the last thirty minutes driving/refereeing the epic (mock) battle between my SO and my dearest 8-year old. Yes, folks, you can only hear "I know you are but what am I" so many times before you break inside just a bit.

I pulled into a spot next to a cart corral, and noticed a motorized cart parked in it. I turned to my SO, with a mischievious grin (although, I've been told it's more "homicidal" than "mischievious", but what the hell) and said "How can I turn this down?". In a rather uneasy voice, SO says "Are you sure you don't wanna just stay in the car? We don't need much, right?" I decided that I didn't want him to come back with beer and Wheat Thins (my god, what men will eat!) for dinner, so I declined to stay behind. Unfortunately, by the time I get out of the car, one of the store associates had jumped on the cart and was driving it back in. As those things are as slow as, well, stuff that's slow, We were walking along next to him, saying hello (it's a small southern town, we're pretty polite here) when we come up to the crosswalk between the parking lot and the store. The cars were just driving on by, not stopping for the crosswalk.

Brain-to-mouth filter failed and I say, probably too loudly "That's right, ignore the cripple!" I looked over at the kid on the cart, and he was either trying to ignore the crazy lady standing next to him, or trying not to laugh, I couldn't decide which. But he did wish us a good day when we finally made it into the store. Poor kid. In hindsight, maybe I should have just stayed in the car.

Nothing wrong with Beerios for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Beer floats are good too. Get you a Young's Double Chocolate stout and 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream and you're set.

    Coworker: Distro of choice?
    Me: Gentoo.
Coworker: Ahh. A Masochist. I thought so.

Beer Float? Hmm....I don't think I'm brave enough for that, but the SO might try it...although he would try just about anything
