This thread is what inspired this post.

I will admit I have been the drunk, albeit polite, customer.

I was drinking with friends and it was my brilliant idea that since all of the local pizza places were closed that we would walk down to a Mexican fast food chain to which I give many thanks (kudos if you figure out where).

Something to know is that I have an affinity for accents and will pick them up after a bit more so when I am drinking. A friend of mine likes to speak in a Scottish accent when we are drinking. Well on the way to the restaurant I picked it up and couldn't drop it so when I was standing at the counter speaking to a very nice girl for whom English was a second and only used with customer's language she couldn't understand a word I said. Ended up having my friend translate for me.

In my defense I was polite and respectful the whole time but I do apologize on behalf of myself and all drunken louts for well my behavior.

I went to a McDonald's drunk once. It's all very blurry, but I'm pretty sure our group was a bit loud and obnoxious; if so I apologize.

I have a strange mental behavior where I switch accents mid-sentence when speaking to someone, to cover for a rather dire speech impediment. (It works very well, too. O.o' ) I was (Far too politely) asking for a meal, and the lady behind the counter just blinks at me, ... ... ... ... and turns around to someone behind her, "Are you believin' any of 'dis? Hey do that again."
SC: "Are you new or something?"
Me: "Yes. Your planet is very backwards I hope you realize."

I pick up accents as well - generally of the area I'm staying in. So if I go to Yorkshire I speak Yorkshire, in the Borders I speak slightly Scots...

Unfortunately that means I also have a tendency to speak slightly broken English when at home in Helsinki. :-(

Speaking of using fake accents, I was talking to a young lady who used to do waitressing. She said one of the other waiters liked to use an Australian accent (this is in the US). He said he always got better tips that way.

                I went to a McDonald's drunk once.
I worked the morning shift at a McDonald's for a while. One morning, I noticed a group of girls in fancy dresses, cradling a booth in the corner, and their breakfasts. Random chance showed up, and I had to crack open a new roll of coins, by whacking it against the tray divider. One of the girls just glares at me, and says, "Not so loud!"
Luckily, that first whack was enough to break the roll open, so I fished the change out, and closed my drawer.
Please note: No, it wasn't malicious. I don't do things intentionally to annoy people. It was just chance that I noticed them as I needed to open coins...
