Friday was apparently a pretty rough day at the office. Usually, when I come in, all the jobs that have a deadline for the weekend have been taken care of; if there are a few "live" jobs remaining, they can be handled quickly.
Not this time. TWENTY live jobs to do before anything else could be done.
I'm still cleaning up after Friday. The trouble was that there were so many problems to clear up on Friday and Saturday that I didn't really have time to make my own, if you get my drift. Usually, when I make a mistake, I have the wherewithal to catch and correct it before it gets off the floor. This time, I was sweeping up so many other people's mistakes that I didn't really get the chance for due diligence. The result is my personally and single-handedly coming within a whisker of costing the company fifteen thousand dollars.
I hope like hell the day crew on Friday had as crummy a day as I did on Saturday. I know things are tough around here lately, but the least they could do is try to meet me halfway.
