  • Scheduling snafu

I thought I was scheduled to work 2-6 today. I clocked in at 2, clocked out at 6, went home, glanced at my schedule to see when I worked next...and discovered I was actually scheduled 2:30-6:30!

Drove back to the store, apologized profusely to the manager on duty. She didn't seem fazed by what I'd done, just noted that I did work my full four hours. I figured honesty was the best policy, and I should notify the MOD in case it is brought up later.

That was embarrassing. I can't believe I flaked out that badly. Lately I've been so airheaded I'm thinking of writing the Gas-X people and asking them to make a version that works on the brain!

We all do that at one time or another.

I once was 45 minutes late to a shift because I thought that it was the day I was to come in later. I just ended up coming in early the next day.

I did this once. On my second day of work, no less. My first day of work was from 1:30 to 9 PM or something like that. The next day I came in at the same time because the schedule had my name penciled in for that time. When I showed up, I saw my name in computer ink (Not in pencil) for 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. So I was very late and never phoned. Having showed up five and a half hours late without a call, I was mortified. I went up to awesome manager (Who I barely knew was awesome at the time. ) and apologized profusely, and offered ... I don't even know anymore. But seriously, they changed the schedule on me without me getting a chance to see it.
SC: "Are you new or something?"
Me: "Yes. Your planet is very backwards I hope you realize."

Got a call from the Chesterfield one afternoon. "You coming in to work today?"
"I thought I was off today..."
"Nope, you're scheduled from twenty minutes ago to close..."
I check my schedule printout. "Oh, shit, I AM... I'll be there as soon as I can be."
Twenty minutes later, I'm there, and the store is dead, so, no biggie.

Biggie: Being late for your 'interview' because your damn computer clock thought it was Daylight Savings time already... a week early. And, though you noticed it the night before, you forgot to fix it that morning.
So far, I have yet to receive a rechedule call for that job... and I'm honestly not expecting one now.
        "I call murder on that!"
