  • Innocent minds...

Just read something that reminded me of this story...it's an old one.

Way back when my kid brother and I were kiddies -- I think my brother was 12 or 13 and I was 15 or 16 at this time -- my brother LOVED to play online games against other players.

One day, I was watching him, and I noticed him chatting with other players. Well...apparently, he thought "cum" was just an abbreviation for "come". When I told him what it meant...he was mortified. He'd been using that "abbreviation" for God knows how long. I'm pretty sure he changed his username after that. I just was all

    This brings up another story...

Back in high school (15-years-old), I was hanging out with my friends. We were all having our little conversations. Two of my friends were reading some magazine and looking confused. That's when one of them spoke up, a little too loudly:

    Friend1: "Um, what's an orgasm?"

Cue silence and stares from not only my table, but all the tables around us.

    BFF: "Guys...seriously?"
Friend2: "We saw it in a magazine."
Friend1: "We live very sheltered lives!!!"

So BFF and I had to try and explain it to them, to the best of our ability, with all the tables around us listening in to how exactly we were going to explain it.

Which brings up another awkward social moment

With this same group of friends, we got into an argument over what the age of consent was (16 in this state). I think we were reading a news article that triggered the conversation. So the Friend1 above called over the vice principal and asked him. While he did provide an answer, he spent the rest of the lunch period giving us "the talk" about older men. It was a very awkward teenage moment.

Friend one sounds like a trip.

Though it's sad their parents never talked to them about this.
