  • Slight embarrassment, but fault falls on being Tired.

I was taking my drivers exam and all applicants had to be present at 7:00am, I'm not used to the mornings which can easily be described as being lazy, but when I have somewhere to go or something important to do I can wake up really early. So I sat and waited about 45 mins, and was finally called to be registered into the computer by the instructor. The day before I spent the entire evening doing that irritating eye test for Class identification(A,B,C,D etc) since the machines were down until near closing. I had to do the eye exam a few times because they restarted the machine to get it to the next step (photo), so I'm feeling tired and the hardly any sleep leaves room for crash, so this is what happened. P.s -(I wear glasses)

    DI-Driver Instructor
    Me-Meee

DI-(usual first time questions, name, age, height, near sighted or far.)
    Me-(answers)
DI-"Okay, all I need to do now is test your sight, please use this machine and read me the letters"
Me-"Alright" I then proceed to take off my glasses and look into the box, everything's blurry and I explain this
    Me-"Uhm...I can't make anything out.."
    DI-"What do you mean?"
Me-I can't see anything ,the letters are blurred ."
DI-"(looks up at me notices the glasses missing),You need to have your glasses on"
    Me-"OH...okay"
    ----------
The previous tests all required glasses off and since it was morning my mind didn't adjust to the task at hand. This was of course a little embarrassing and cue the one person in a crowd of 50 watching me burst out laughing, I could feel their eyes burrowing into my back, The Instructor was a nice lady and didn't mind helping through the eye test, I didn't know I was supposed to read both lines, and for a moment she asked if I was blind in one eye. It worked out well enough though since I ended up passing my test, but maybe if I went to sleep early the night before this could have been avoided...Ooops

Aw, you were fine. The crowd was kind of mean. I usually just apologize and say I'm sleep-deprived at the moment. People understand and sympathize.

Claiming to sleep-deprived before a driving test is probably not a good idea.

Back when I got my license, they instructed my to remove my glasses. I said that I could not read the line. They checked the box "Corrective lenses required."

Yeah, I can see how that might come across...."I can barely keep my eyes ope..zzzzzzzzzz" (collapses on floor) Luckily I had recently changed my glasses to newer ones, I just assumed I had to take them off to get a "with and without reading", but that's just the mind trying to put the circle block into the square hole.
