DM stopped in for a visit yesterday. It probably wasn't a good one.
I was assigned to go through housewares and request stuff. Particularly appliances, since most of them can only fit one on the shelf and if it sells, then it's out until it gets pulled again. Which would probably be the next day.
This I did not get to, because certain people, who always seem to get away with it, made a mess of the backroom. Baler overflowing with cardboard, random carts of backstock and other unidentified crap floating around, garbage cans overflowing with trash.

As a result of this, DM and the manager shadowing him pulled a flatbed of appliances to be filled.
Then DM decided to go scanning around the backroom to make sure everything back there was located. Planogram supervisor later bragged to my supervisor that he found several things not located in housewares, which is where I've been spending way too damn much time lately straightening and re-locating merchandise because there are always problems there. We had a talk with our manager about this, and it all went in one ear and out the other.

Since the truck came late yesterday, we took some time to go through housewares backstock scanning stuff. We found everything located properly except for shelf liner. Nine cases of the stuff weren't located. Coincidentally, this was one of the areas planogram supervisor reported errors in.

Finally, DM was unhappy that we haven't even begun to set up the garden center. Go figure, we still can't get above freezing on a consistent basis, but corporate wants to start sending us plants in a couple weeks. One of the issues is some snow needs to be shoveled away from the tent so we can put pallet displayers of pots in there and lock them up.
This could have been done by my manager yesterday, but as far as anybody knows he hasn't even begun to think about the garden center yet. He hasn't even hired anybody for the garden center, and he will need to, because nobody from inside the store wants to be stuck out there. Also I am told he spent his day yesterday wandering around complaining he had nothing to do and was bored.

Since we will probably be done with the truck early today, I bet he will try delegating the shoveling to one of us. This will not happen, because store manager himself said my manager can do the shoveling since he's responsible for the garden center and apparently has all this free time to walk around looking for stuff to do. Muahahahaha.
