  • um, what?

Okay, so I was playing around with my players club account today at work, trying to figure out how it will be working with the new system for the June offers and I stumbled upon this precious gem.
I apparently have been playing Keno non-stop at the casino since 1948... which is impressive considering I wasn't born until 1986... even more impressive considering that the casino didn't even open until 1968.
Something tells me that there is still some bugs to be worked out in the new system

I've heard of gambling addiction, but that's just taking it to a whole new level.

Beautiful. Programmers love users like you. (Well, smart ones do.)

Even better if you file a bug report. Even better better (is that a phrase?) if you file it according to the following:

      1. What happened that was unexpected or wrong.

      2. What you expected.
(And, if necessary, why. For example, if the program disagrees with the manual, tell them which part of the manual. But in this case, it's pretty obvious why '1948' is wrong. :P )

      3. What you did to trigger the unexpected event (in this case 'pulled up the players card display for card #"blah blah fubar" using <key sequence or menu pulldowns>')

      4. Anything else that you think might possibly be significant or related; such as 'this happened just after you changed to version thingo' or 'we'd just rebooted after the power outage on <date>'.
Or even which terminal you're on, so they can check their records and know what OS is running on that system and what hardware it has.

.... is my inner programmer showing? Oh damn.

Keep finding (and reporting) those bugs! Love 'em. The more can be found and fixed before it goes live, the better!

      1. Would you rather be right, or get the result you want?
      2. If you're consistently getting results you don't want, change what you do.
      3. Deal with the situation you have now, however it occurred.
      4. Accept the consequences of your decisions.

As a slight update, we've (and by we, I of course mean me, because I can't seem to get anyone else to care) been looking into player accounts, and every single person who played keno on or before May 12 has this glitch in their account... one gentleman's account shows that he has been playing Keno sense 1850

Does the length of time someone has been playing affect their rewards? For example, would someone who has been 'playing' since 1850 be in a much higher reward tier? If so, you may encourage interest by pointing out that it will COST them more in rewards than the person is entitled to.
Somehow, most companies respond better if they think it will cost more to keep an error, than it will cost to fix it.

Last I checked, live =/= someone can't submit a bug report.

I imagine maybe they'll notice once some sc starts yelling "Do you have any idea how long I've been coming here?" And some snarky agent decides to pull up their info to say "Yes sir, you've been coming here for... 150 years?"

                      ^_^

Than again, it could be like one too many MMORPG's I've played, where bug reports submitted after a game goes live are seemingly ignored.
