  • Bad side of CoC

I work in a union run place. So this took years to happen.

Basically had a cw. He was unsafe. Idiotic. Everything you'd post about in coc. They wanted to fire him. Union voted to fight. We saved his job. Got him another placement. He fucked that up too. We couldn't really fight any more because they nailed him.

He was terminated at 10:00 this morning.

His gf called his only friend on the machine home when she found his suicide note.

    Still waiting for an update.

I guess he was found. Is ok and at the hospital for mental health treatment.

The job we have here is the fucking holy grail. For example. I usually pull in about 1700/2 weeks. When my wide and I had our issues I took 2 weeks off vacation abs made 2200 lol. It's stupid. Big money. Work doesn't always suck. Good hours. Benefits. Stock options. No college degree required. Pension. Union protection (this guy is one of 2 fired in 40 years)

Glad he's ok. As a steward I've had to sit in on the meetings with a couple of co-workers when they were fired. One was a temp and honestly a bad fit for the job. The other was a textbook example of how to lose a job, the union did everything possible to help her, but in the end we lost. It's never easy to go through this, people don't realize how hard we fight for their jobs because it's usually behind the scenes. I hope your ex-CW gets the help he needs and comes out of it stronger.

When my wife was a shop steward, she burned out quickly about some of the firings she had to challenge. Good to se the XCW in the OP is physically OK.
I'm trying to see things from your point of view, but I can't get my head that far up my keister!
