So I got hired for part-time at a book store. So far it's good. No real sucky customer stories, though maybe I will post co-worker stories when there are some really bad stories to tell.
First story.
So a woman comes up to me asking where the Zodiac books are. Of course, I say the first thing that comes to my mind, "you mean the Zodiac Killer." Granted, I was watching this YouTube series about serial killers recently.
Second story.
Race Card.
I didn't see the original problem. Anyway, I'm a cashier (cashiers work at "Cash Wrap", not "Customer Service"), I asked the guy, "did you find everything you were looking for?" I can't remember if he said "yes" or "no" but he told me the woman helping him at Customer Service was racist, and he spends money like anyone else. I asked him if he wanted a manager. First he said "no" then he said" yes" then he said "I'll call the head office" then he said, "Yes, I want a manager". So I got a manager, he said he went to Customer Service and asked for a book (he bought a book about Texas) and the woman just pointed him in the general direction but the next person the woman took to the book. So he claim the woman is racist, manager makes "oh no, I'm sorry blah blah blah..." without blaming the cw at Customer Service or saying she will talk with her. Guy leaves. The next group of people I am helping say to the manager, "don't listen to that guy, he is saying the woman at Customer Service is racist but it didn't happen that way."
Now I wish they had said what exactly happened, like maybe the coworker took the guy to the book but left right away to help new customers or he just started walking to the area after she started to say where it was, not giving a chance for her to take him there. Or maybe she was just performing bad customer service by just pointing out the area, but she wasn't being racist, just not doing a good job and the guy's knee-jerk reaction is "she is racist" not "she is too busy, it's a Saturday, there were a lot of people in line," or whatever.
The couple who said they guy was lying is another thing. Maybe the guy was a douchebag and just making up shit. Or maybe my cw gave bad customer service but the couple decided to stick up for my cw even if they knew she was in the wrong.
Eh. So far no one has complained about me, so I hope luck will stay with me.
