I dropped in today on a local help centre for the unemployed, to pick up some of their business cards (since I think I may know some people who, in the near future, might find them useful ...)
I know the woman at the front desk from my several years of going here. I was telling her about the retail job and that I really wasn't upset about it disappearing, since I think I've had my fill of retail ... I really do NOT want to spend another Christmas doing retail.
So several minutes later, she's telling me this is a good time to apply to other places -- other RETAIL places -- because with spring coming a lot of places need extra help (in their garden centres, for example).
Um ... what did I just say about retail??
Although if these positions are strictly seasonal, I'd be more than happy to apply.
