  • What I like about my company

I like that we have a sense of humor.

Every week there's a report about Satellite errors and box issues. It's titled Dropped from the Sky. We also have internal links... my team has a form with the acronym of OWL. One of the links that will reach it is (company)/hoot

We also have a (company)/batman link. If you dare to type it in, a very unimpressed Batman appears with the caption "Aren't you supposed to be working?"

I'm sure anyone from my company can recognize it from this, but that's alright. I don't say much bad about us anyway.

    Also have TPS reports?

Sarcasm dear, sarcasm. I’m well aware that dealing with civilians in any capacity will skin your faith in humanity alive, then pickle anything that remains so as to watch it shrivel up into an immortal husk thus reminding you of how dead inside you now are.

If we do have TPS reports it's not my department.

That's great. Good that you have a place where they're nice people.

I don't know if it would be considered "funny" or not, but I wonder how many software shops have this:

            https://sirenofshame.com/

You break the build, the siren goes off!

We are always supposed to lock our comps before walking away. Sometimes we forget. Sometimes we get caught. By a sup (who will just lock it for you and say something later) or even worse, someone who will send a mass email to the entire department confessing "your" undying love for a co-worker or something else embarrassing.

Management thinks that public shaming for leaving your comp unlocked is an appropriate punishment and joins in with snarky replies.

There is a lot of very inappropriate discussion of problem customers out in the smoking area. Due to all of the non-smoking complainers, us smokers usually all end up standing in a small group on the edge of OUR area just to accommodate our co-workers. There is a lot of laughter out there.

Mine would flip your computer upside down and then lock it. However if it was a BIG BIG BOSS out the door u went it was terms for immediate firing at this job due to dealing with credit cards. And if u left it unlocked a co work could go in access an unauthorized account on your log in and now your on the report from the company we were contracted for and have to explain yourself and would get fired that way. Lots of people were stealing credit card info in that call center yah glad I went back to my old job that I love.

Haven't worked at a place where locking your computer mattered, but at school we'd just let each other know that we could have done something if we'd wanted to. Stuff like searching for Justin Bieber and leaving the image results up, or if they were in the middle of some text, just continuing with something silly like "I know what you did last summer." Things that were dumb, but just reminded you to lock your computer. I think once when I did it, I googled "Australian spiders" and left the images up.

Well since I was working with credit cards and filing disputes we had access to not only the card number but ssn and dob address phone number and name I don't think u would like it if someone with the credit card company stole your information so that why and tbh there were lots of shady people working there I wouldn't trust them with a 10 foot stick the first weekend im there and a fight breaks out on the call center floor yah no thanks.
