I ended up spending almost twice as much time at work today as I'd been scheduled for. Morning CW called yesterday to ask if I could stay until 5 p.m. -- I'd been scheduled to leave at 2 p.m.
I'd had some good sales (including not one but TWO Gadget Bundles! Go, me!) so when Afternoon CW came in, I decided to go behind the drinks counter and let him have the floor, so he could get some decent sales.
You can guess where this is going, I'm sure.
For the rest of my shift ...
... EVERYBODY ...
... WANTED ...
... DRINKS.
Yes, even though our store fridge is malfunctioning yet again and thus we couldn't make lattes. Again. And even though the poor guy trying to fix the fridge had to pull it away from the wall, thereby blockading me neatly into a very small space behind the drinks counter.
I've never wanted so badly to scream at customers "BUY SOME F*CKING TEA AND GO HOME AND MAKE IT YOURSELF!!!"
But alas, I haven't won the lottery yet.
