Early on in yesterday's shift it was just me and newly-hired Team Lead. He's been transferred from elsewhere and is an excellent salesperson.
At one point he was telling me that he had actively DIScouraged a customer from buying an item because, in his personal experience, the item is poorly designed and not suitable for the use for which it was intended.

I don't remember ever hearing anybody do that before. I'm certainly not criticizing him for it; I think it was very good on his part and also will impress the customer no end that he didn't sell her something he knew to be no good. I'm just envisioning Manager's expression if she'd been there ....
