My son pointed out this weekend that the producers for the latest Star Trek series needed to be reminded that if a 15-year-old sniggers at your series' acronym, you're doing it wrong. ("Star Trek: Discovery" --> STD)

A LOT of our subjects that we offer students at work have long names, so they naturally get shortened when we're talking about students in relation to a particular subject for student support sessions or whathaveyou.
This has resulted in at least one subject having the (somewhat hilarious) acronym of "PORN." (Funnily enough, the subject has nothing to do with sexual health - we don't offer a sexual health course at work)
