For this week I am the Official Phone Person, which involves NOT accidentally transferring calls to Beijing or Moscow ...
But I was sorely tempted when a woman called today to say she'd be a bit late for her 9:30 appointment and was that a problem?
"Shouldn't be a problem," sez I. "Which lawyer is your appointment with?"
"I don't remember ..."
Okay ... THAT is a problem. We have some half-a-dozen lawyers in the building, including one who's on vacation this week and one who's supposed to be on vacation but was wandering around hallways anyway ...
Luckily I finally found her name on the Google calendar.
I'll be ever so glad to go back to hiding in my little office next week, when the receptionist/IT person returns from her vacation.
