  • So I'm writing a book about cell phone customer service...

Sorry if this is the wrong forum I wasn't quite sure where to put it, but my time in the call center has inspired me to write a book about this whole industry.

That being said I'm interested to hear any horror stories about cell service that you have.

Kara_CS, I was also hoping to get permission to use some of your stories in the book. I wouldn't use a real name or anything, but it would be too awesome if I could use a few.

I'm currently researching customer service levels at all the major providers and lining up interviews for the book (I'm formally trained in journalism).

Wish me luck, really hope I get this thing published!

Crazed, hon, do yourself a favor.

Do NOT put a direct email link in any kind of public forum. Crawlers/ bots/ automated systems crawl all over the innet trying to find email listings. Tis their job.

    Type it up as so:

    someone *at* provider *dot* com

or some other broken up form of text, NOT following the @ and . protocols.

    Just a bit of bossyadvice.

      I'll agree.

      Something like

draggar (at) gmail (dot) com is good (and hotmail's spam filter sucks ).

Will this book just be anecdotes or will it be informational. Is it geared for the business / people working there or the Joe Average consumer?

First of all, this should really be in General Work Chat (I'll be moving it). Secondly, I sort of have a plan to eventually finance (or part-finance) this site by collating the funniest tales with the permission of the authors.

Thirdly, several members are already working on their own memoirs. I'm not sure how far you're going to get.
