  • Quitting new job already!

So I've had this job as a service technician for a cellphone company for about a month and a half now, I'm quitting at the end of next week. Funny thing is, I love the job! Now before you call me crazy let me tell you what happened. I was still working parttime at my old job selling computers at the blue box, I was approached by no less than 3 managers and 2 supervisors asking me to apply for a position. I had already been approached once before after I had quit and told them flat out no. But this new position is 2nd in charge of the GS, which is something I've really wanted to do.

Now the job I'm currently at is great, I love the people I work with. I can browse the internet all day, very low amount of SCs and the pay is very nice. So why would I leave? Well the new position will give me alot of good experience in the tech field which is what I'm after that and its a direct leadership position so I'd have 3 full time employees and anywhere between 6-8 parttime employees under myself. That sort of thing looks great on any resume. And while the current job pays great, I had the levarage wakling into the interview. They offered me way too low to take the spot and I flat out told them no. Then they asked what it would take. I should have said more because they caved in way too easy, but it is more than my current job.

So I had to tell my boss that while I love the job I need to think in more of terms of career, now I don't plan on the GS being my career I'm going to use the experience it gives me to land a nice cushy gov job at the local arsenal within the next couple years.
