  • Getting a new job!

The constant barrage of "By the time I make the four Penne Bakes that have been ordered, five Rigatoni's are on my screen" pissed me off.

My parents were on my ass about college (I'll be dropped from their health insurance next month if I don't attend a college, I hadn't even thought about what I want to go in for, etc...)

I'm going to follow my brother and my dad -- I'm going in for an apprenticeship at Town & Country Electric, installing printing presses and stuff.

Fazoli's: $6.50 an hour, maximum $8.00 after five years. Becoming a manager bumps you up to $7.00 an hour. Partial health insurance only if you work 35 hours a week for 6 months. No other benefits

Town & Country: $8.50 an hour, up to $13.50 within 3 years, up to around $20/hour after 6 years. Full health insurance, many benefits.

My brother is married with two kids (one 3 year old, one newborn), and yet with just his income after two years they're doing comfortable enough that they just bought a used Ford Expedition.
I've been here for two years, work harder than most others, and I'm getting paid $1.80 an hour
less than the 17 year old slacker you hired two months ago. Maybe that's why I'm not chipper at work.
