  • Where's the Clue Stick?

    I need to borrow it for a spell . . .

I'd put this in Morons in Management, however as I don't work with this manager anymore this forum might be better. And why I'd forgotten to post this I cannot tell you . . .except for getting sidelined with computer issues.

Two Saturdays ago now I was summoned into the cutting room of the Meat Department by the girl who runs it (we both came from the same store 3 weeks apart) who we'll call Teeny.

Teeny and I both suffered at the old Kitty store we worked at - we both had to endure the endless bullying inflicted by the notorious Tarzan and Cheetah. She was transferred out before me and we both ended up at the same store where we both still are.

Teeny had something to tell me, which really had me curious. Turned out what she had to tell me just left me almost speechless . . .

Cheetah is being sent through Store Manager Training!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's being sent to the newest store the Kitty opened, which is way over on the Northside of town (I've been to that store for one day right before Grand Opening - it used to be a Bi-Lo)

Yes, folks . . . Cheetah the Ape Manager is going to become a Store Manager

Now we're both being picked on by the other cutter who works with Teeny (we'll call him Ralph.) He's trying to spread it around the store that both Teeny and I want to transfer over to the Northside store once Cheetah finishes his training and takes over as manager.

It's bad enough I'm being picked on over Butt-Head supposedly having a crush on me, now it's being said I want to work with Cheetah again.

Definitely BS . . . I'm not being transferred anywhere . . . even if Froot Loop is moving to VA soon (she runs the HBC department at the Northside store and is definitely worthy of her nom de plume, as she worked at my store long ago and accused several coworkers of harrassment.

But it's still funny in a sad sort of way: this guy doesn't have a clue how to talk to people - let alone female employees. He's had HR on his butt so many times at my old store for using certain profanities and threatening females in that store, yet he now gets to be a store manager???

    I'm baffled

If your bosses are picking on you, then I would talk to THEIR bosses. If their boss doesn't do anything, then keep working up the ladder, all the way up to the owner of the company if necessary. Too many times upper management doesn't get to see the bullshit that happens in store that managers give their employees. Trust me. Upper management WANTS to hear from you.

There were numerous incidents that were reported to HR 2 years ago when I worked at another location. The result of that was that, after a particularly scary incident where I was cornered in the Receiving area and the SM threatened that if I tried to fight him he'd bite me - that the SM was transferred out to another store over near Winston-Salem. Since then, he's been bounced around several stores in that area - last I heard he was in Kernersville (just outside WS) as of a month ago (or at least that's the last store my b/f has seen him at the last time he had to work in the WS area.)

A few weeks later, the AM (Cheetah) was transferred back to the store where he'd come from, and from there he was transferred again to yet another store.

Now Cheetah is being promoted to store manager. Yes, he'll be at yet another store (thankfully not the one I'm at now) but it's the mere fact that he wasn't fired, but transferred and now promoted that I find is a bitter pill to swallow.

Just doesn't seem right . . . the Kitty will promote the troublemakers at the expense of potentially losing good workers.

And now there's increased risk that, with the way the Kitty shifts store managers around every year or so, that I may in the future end up working with this one again, which IMHO is completely and totally unacceptable and would result in a rather lengthy email to HR to discuss the matter.

So, I guess as long as he's not at MY store, it'll be okay. But it stays in the back of my mind nonetheless.

One day, I'll repost the saga of Tarzan and Cheetah . . . just not tonight.
