The following edict came down from corporate a day or two ago: All toys must be purged from the backroom to the salesfloor. No toys can be in backstock. This is impossible anyway because the backroom is still cram-packed with toys and there is no place to put them.
Guess what came in on the truck tonight? 7 or 8 pallets of toys. Two of which were clearance toys. The clearance aisle is full, the clearance back endstands are full, there are two power fixtures with clearance toys on them and management won't approve any more, so those will just have to sit.
Another edict came down from corporate: Holiday dishes have to be purged from the backroom to the salesfloor. No holiday dishes can be in backstock. There are no more holiday dishes at the distribution center. Two nights ago the third-shift people worked them all to the floor and had to move stuff around to fit everything in the gondola.
Guess what came in on the truck tonight? A pallet of holiday dishes. I swear either the DC outright lies to us about they have or don't have, or they have no frasking clue what they have there.
