  • Sexism (or something like it), my damned printer and WOOOHOO

first the good stuff then the bad

    Woohoo
I have, in my coaches terms, turned it around, i dont know what it is but my sails have really increased, and finally made 250+ in commission last week. So... go me

    Th Sticker Bandit!
Ok.... im weird. I was doing some little Christmas gifts for the coaches on my shift. Alittle soft toy and a cute flyer for all of them.
Then my printer desided to be a b*tch after i did Annies.....
So now the sticker bandit must do her evil in secret... and with out making 140 copys and papering the call center like i did with Annie....

NOT REALLY SEXISM BUT DAMNIT IM PISSED AND IT FEELS LIKE IT!
Ok... im not trying to pull the gender card here but...
4 weeks ago i applied to be a floor walker. Basically a weekend Supervisor. I did the training have done it a couple times. The coachs loved me doing it, I now can not get up to go pee without half the call center wanting my help because i can make any system sing and if i cant do it then only the bridge can.
I did for real one weekend. Then a few other days.
Two weeks after I applied and started training a guy i work with got a approached by one of the floor walkers who didnt know i had been doing because she got back from maternity leave the week after my first weekend. She asked him he could help because he was a top seller in one area with some floor walking.
He was pissed off cause they changed his group and need a break from the phone so he agreed for the day.
At the end of the day...
They asked him to be a floor walker permentaly....
    After I applied...
And continued to wait for word that i could do it.
    oh and the Kicker?
there are about 10 floor walkers in total right now. 3 girls and 7 guys.
I shouldnt be pissed and i dont really think its sexism but come on, the people who asked him, KNEW I APPLIED and was waiting for word
GAH!!! i ahve to talk to lise today (didnt have the chance to until today she was on vaction the week of the... hiring)

Yes, but are you FAR TOO GOOD at your current job? Often being indispensable in your current role is a massive block to promotion.

im not to good at my job and the thing is it isnt a promotion really its willing giving up money to help people two days a week, Im average on the weekends.
Oh and i talked ot lisa she told it was pete and the girl who came because they she thought they worked good together. To which i call BS, She ahsnt worked a weekend since the weekend before Pete was made a walker. SHE HASNT SEEN THEM WORK TOGETHER!!! and she has also not seen Pete running to me for questions.
Though im pretty good, Im not the star sales.

I would think that the star sales would want to be kept in sales where he does the company the most good... plus, having an imbalance of 3/7 like that? I would call sexism there. You got passed up for a promotion that you were perfectly qualified for AND being considered for and it was given to a man. Go after them!
