  • And the Wheel of Management spins again

It's the latest game show craze for the Kitty . . . the Wheel of Management.

Spin it around and see where it stops. Or something like it.

My prediction came true: our store manager is GONE. P. Diddy is no more - as of yesterday, he's at another location (undisclosed to us) and has been busted back down to Grocery Manager (which was his position before he was sent to store management training w/out the benefit of any AM experience.)

Nobody knows who the new manager will be or when he/she will arrive . . . right now we've got an AM helping out Opie from our next closest store.

I suspect it's more than Inventory issues . . . apparently after everything was tallied up and Accrual was done (whatever that is) we're not in the hole as deep as previously believed.

The amount I last heard was over $80,000 but now it's around $50,000 (after accrual.)

Not nearly as bad, but I suspect there are other issues that aren't being made entirely known to us.

We've had several people from HQ in the store all morning (supposedly from LP, along with Mohair and our regular LP guy.) All they did was hang out in either the breakroom or the computer room in the back and talk all morning - left for lunch around 12 and didn't return (except for our regular LP guy, who was leaving out around 4:30 when I was.)

So now the wheel spins again . . . where she stops, nobody knows.

I am currently on my eigth boss in six (or maybe only five) years. One of whom I never met, despite having him for a couple months. And I expect to be on number nine in a month or two.

Of those, only four are still with the company. And only one left involuntarily.

      Oooo I can beat that!!!!

current company-3 different jobs in three years
      job 1 (8 months)-5 managers
      Job 2(5 months)-3 managers
      Job 3-8 managers

So in three years I've had 16 managers!!!!!
Honestly.... the image of that in my head made me go "AWESOME!"..... and then I remembered I am terribly strange.-Red dazes

It was even worse at my previous store:

I was there for almost 2 1/2 years and we went through approximately 8 store managers.

At this previous store, they've been through some managers before my transfer there. The previous manager had started the same week I did and only lasted until around Christmas, then we got P. Diddy.

Right now, we've got another AM helping out from another store until the management situation is rectified.

        Another important update:

I heard from the grapevine today that P. Diddy quit rather than let the Kitty bust him back down to Grocery Manager.

He was supposed to have been sent to the W-S area (where Tarzan is currently.) So, like KB2 (who, BTW I saw in the store Sunday morning) he got the fluck out.

He really got a raw deal when you come right down to it. He didn't really have the experience to be a store manager, but he was trying. He was promoted as an SM from Grocery Manager without the benefit of being an AM for awhile - just 2 months of store management training at HQ and he was let loose in a store.

Not a smart move on the part of the Kitty, but at the same time I would think P. Diddy was aware of the potential risks involved in accepting such a promotion.

Either way, the Kitty is brutal on store managers. One bad inventory, one bad visit or a DM who's trying to show off to his/her bosses is all it takes anymore to get your bubble burst.

Our AM isn't that great either . . . but that's another topic altogether.
