After submitting countless applications and hearing nothing back, I finally got a job! Yay. And it's something I really love doing, too.
The only down side was that it was only 20 hours a week, and I was ideally looking for a few more hours than that. There were two different shifts to pick from, and I picked the later one at my interview, since I'm not much of an early riser.
But when I was called back and formally offered the position, I was asked if I could work the earlier shift instead, since they really needed someone for that. I agreed it was no problem at all.
Then not too long ago I was telling a friend about my job and the hours - when I realized something. I thought both shifts were the same length, but the earlier shift is an hour and a half longer than the later one. I completely miscounted the hours. So now luckily I have the longer shift and over 7 more hours a week, which is perfect. I would have been kicking myself in the head if I was given the later shift and then eventually realized I picked the shorter one.
