I just heard the loudest thunder ever which considering I'm in the middle of the huge building means it was really loud. Yay considering I'm off work in half an hour.

You will, I imagine, be getting lots of stupid calls along the lines of
    My power is out
    Why are the lights out
    The street lights aren't working

Which quite effectivly blocks the calls like
There's a live power cable down
There's a tree blocking the road

    Enjoy!
A PSA, if I may, as well as another.

Nope. Since I'm at the college, the girl taking over for me will just be getting a bunch of "are classes cancelled????" calls. I on the other hand, wore sandals. Yuck. And I was supposed to cut my best friend's brother's hair and lady does not like us to do that inside. I guess the garage will have to do.

I'm sorry that you wore sandals. That must stink. But look on the bright side, at least the lightning that accompanied that loud thunder didn't find you, this time.

Were still storming over this way, and have been since about 1pm. The Cardinals season opener was postponed, and as of right now, we're still storming (yay for wireless!).

The bad part is that it's been raining hard at least 2 inches an hour in some areas, and we just got done with one flood. *sigh*
          Random conversation:
Me: Okay..so I think I get why Zoro wears a bandana
          DDD: Cuz it's cool

So, by using the Doctor's reasoning, bow ties, fezzes and bandanas are cool.

Hehehe. It came close to my Chief though. Poor guy. The sandals weren't too bad as when the got to the point where they were making funny squishing sounds, they amused me.

Loudest thunder I ever encountered, I actually have no recollection of hearing it. I know I must have, given that the lightning bolt hit less than 40 feet away from me, but to be honest, I couldn't hear much of anything for the rest of the day...

A friend of mine told me a story once about an even closer brush with a lightning bolt he'd had. He was riding his bike home from school, trying to beat an oncoming rain storm, when suddenly everything went white, then everything went black, then he woke up in the ditch, his wristwatch dead, his bike on top of him, and *no* trace of his rear tire (the rear forks were melted). Aside from the DOA bike and watch, he wasn't harmed by it at all.

I was zapped years ago when working at a textile mill. Mine was a bit of a weird case though. first I was inside the building, and second the lightning struck the outside. Best anyone could ever sort out, was that the bolt had struck the roof (metal) just above where I was standing and had grounded out through the I beam which was to my left. In my case it knocked the power out in the building, blew my shoes off, and left me lying on my back a good thirty feet down the aisle between the machines. My joints ache to this day, but the company was really nice about it. Paid for all of my doctor appointments and care even after I quit working there.

So you know, lightning doesn't just come down from the heavens. A lightning bolt happens when Positive energy coming from a cloud meets Negative energy coming from the ground.

                          Thunder? lol...

Spend some time in Florida in the summer, particularly during the afternoon times. Thunder and lightning all around!

I've seen...er...heard it so loud that the whole house shook a couple times. 'Tis how it goes down here sometimes though.

Personally, when I think thunder and lightning...I get 'happy' thoughts.

They don't really serve a purpose,
But they still bring a smile to your face
When you push them down the stairs.

The best part after that lightening hit, I don't know if you were still there for this, but he came out and was like "I'm glad that was lightening. Because for a second there, I was like OMG I AM SHOT SHIT SHIT SHIT WHAT IS GOING ON...*etc etc*"
