  • Jimmy Johns was handing out food at work today...

    and I missed them!

Seriously. Jimmy John's opened in town not too long ago, so apparently in an effort to drum up business they had a guy drop by our store with a box full of little mini-subs for the employees to sample.

Store manager said it was okay for us to take them.

Would've been nice to have one of those for break.

Doh!!! That sucks, Irv. I don't suppose anyone saved one for you? Perhaps a crumb?

      Nope. Missed out.

And now this late-breaking sad sub sandwich story--the sub shop in our strip mall is apparently closing at the end of the month. Guess we didn't order food from there enough to make them enough money.

Double . Unless this is an elaborate April Fools joke but the person who told me this didn't sound like he was kidding.

        Jimmy Johns rocks!!! Awesome subs!

Very sad that your close-by sub shop is closing though.

of all the sub shops in town, i think jimmy john's is the worst.

unless you like mayonaise, you can only get 1 sub. the #5 (which i admit, is pretty good)

and on another note, last week we had a guy bring in a buncha mini subs as they just had a grand opening down the street.

I like mayo on my subs, but if someone didn't, couldn't they just ask for it without?

sure... but then where's the sauce? do they even carry mustard? never wasted my time trying to find out after a guy complained about a tip.

sorry but I personal will never visit their business again . . . .

They have a new location by me. I helped give the delivery driver directions one day . . .asked about what they had on the menu . . he didn't know the menu, and didn't have any to hand out.

About a week later I went to check them out. Their was one car in drive -thru. Rest of the customers had been served. (so not busy at that moment . . .it was around 1:30 pm so just past lunch rush- also this was Good Friday - holiday for a lot of people around here)

I saw the manager and suggested that it would have been nice if the delivery driver had a menu to hand out or at least for me to glance at.
Manager went off on me about the cost of the menus. His voice, body language, and words had me shaking with fear, embaressment, and anger.
About that time my sub was ready.
I got out to my car . .. pulled out . . .decided I wasn't going to be able to choke the sandwhich down.
U - turned and went back.
Now I admit this wasn't the most mature thing for me to do . . .
I walked in, I set the sub on the counter and told the clerk standing there . . . "If you need the money so bad you can keep mine, and here is your food back, I didn't deserve to be spoken to like that."
                  And I left
I then learned they are a chain.
                  So yes, I called.
End up getting a call from the person dealing with the opening of this store. Tell him what happened.
At the end of the call he invites me to come out on Sat. They are having a speical - subs for $1 for the day.
I point out they already have my money and well I have no reason to want to go back.

An apology would have been nice.
Don't want my money back. Getting an education costs.
I still feel I didn't do anything wrong. I made a suggestion from a customer point of view . . .during a lull in business . . .without attitude.

*GASP!* jimmy john's! oh how i love thee! the only one in my state was 6 hours away. i would cry a little when i would talk to my friends about how delicious it is. but they built one that's only twenty minutes away a few months ago so now i don't have to be sad.
i'm sorry some of you guys have had such terrible experiences at jj, the one in my area is really great. they're fast and very nice. every time i go in and it's a slow time for them, they'll actually have a conversation with me. that particular location actually has some of the best customer service i've ever seen. (i'm not defending jj as a chain, i promise. that's just what i've seen. the one that is 6 hours away were kinda mean though. i talk quietly all the time, and i'm used to being asked to speak up. but the person taking my order gave me a look like i was a retard and told me to speak up in the most belittling way i've ever heard. i almost cried.)

I've found Jimmy John's to be vastly overrated.

Then again, we didn't have it delivered.
                      I'm bringing disdain back...with a vengeance.

Oh, and your tool box called...you got out again.
