  • THe single most vile human being I've ever met...

OK. At the store where I work we have a McDonalds on premises.

At the store they are running some kind of promotion for the crew. Whoever sells the most Pies gets a gift card or something.

Well the person working drive thru decided to jump into the lead rather uniquely.

I was at the counter getting my dinner, and i hear him say after he's finished repeating back their order "Would you like to get 2 pies for a dollar, it benefits the National [sic] Cancer Society"

    I couldn't believe my ears...

This shithead decided that he'd act like it was a charitable donation so he's be able to "win" some gift cards.

I told the manager who came on later who happens to be a friend of mine about this, and even told him that if I heard him doing this again I would be putting a phone call into the AMERICAN Cancer Society, about this individual and they would be there with police, not to mention lawyers. I didn't say that I'd get him or his other crew members in trouble. Just the idiot who decided to collect the "donation" and also the fact he was warned not once, but twice about this in the same day before I spoke up!

As I understand it, he's now banned from altering the drive thru pitch of the pies in any way at all.

Not only that... I went over to get some ice cream later and he has the balls to tell me that "I've done nothing to you. why did you tell on me?" like he's somehow oblivious to the fact that doing what he was doing was borderline illegal, immoral, and unethical.

At least management did the right thing. I'm sure there are managers out there who would just blow you off and say "Whatever, if it sells more pies we're cool with that."

Pathetically loose morals on that one.
Pleased the manager did the right thing in that case, as I'd say quite a few would just not care, as long as it brought in more promo sales.

That's just low, and that co-irker had the gall to call innocent.

He DID do something to you. He lied to you, trying to use your sense of charity and kindness for his own personal gain. He's a pig and a git and he ought to be ashamed of himself.

Actually, he crossed the border by a mile. It's called fraud.

Oh, yeah, that was a whole hell of a lot of illegal.

And the entire shop would suffer if someone called it in.

                      Oh, that's vile, all right.

And definitely illegal. Charity fraud is not often taken lightly. Especially when the guilty party is so easy to trace, seeing as he committed the fraud at his job and all.

Namrepus,I don't think your manager should've given him a second warning. That co-irker should've been out the door and reported for fraud.

                            I agree wholeheartedly.

I just can't believe what some people will do just to get something as stupid and meaningless as a gift card.

In my experience, the more useless and meaningless the prize, the more tenaciously people will try to win it, and the further people will go in plotting.
