How to move people around on the rota, or not

We're a fairly flexible workforce. Most of us can and will be moved from one job to another to meet operational requirements. Opsco (operations coordinator) came up to my area today (customer information) to talk to us about the usual picking crisis today.

Opsco: I was wondering if you (my coordinator) would be willing to cover so Rapscallion could go to ... something else?

Me: Rapscallion has done ten hours of picking overtime so far this week. Rapscallion is picking tomorrow. Rapscallion is struggling to get out of bed these days.

Ah yes, one of those "The mind is willing, but the body is weak" moments. I remember when I worked the factory printing job where I'd come home and sleep 12-14 hours solid some nights.
