    You know what's a real kick in the teeth?

    Placing 3rd in a contest in which the 1st prize is a 16G iTouch, the 2nd prize is a 8G iTouch, and the 3rd through 20th prizes are $20 gift cards to some shitty bar and grill.

    If I had placed 20th, I'd have been happier. Then I'd feel lucky. Happiness is so subjective, isn't it?

    I will use my stupid gift card tomorrow evening with my husband, and hope that my burger doesn't taste too much like bitter.

    Oooh. Yeah, it's hard to be happy to be a winner when if you'd just been a smidge better, you'd have won something you really wanted.
