  • Evil is boiling over...

So, when you actually start to ENJOY denying people things at work...like you can barely keep the glee out of your voice when someone gets something in after deadline and you get to inform them that it won't be in, just because you're looking forward to ABSOLUTELY CRUSHING THEIR DREAMS LIKE SO MANY NUBBY PACKING PEANUTS, and the sound of their whining and begging is like sweet, sweet music because you get to be a cold bitch who won't let them have what they shouldn't get anyway because they couldn't be bothered to be on time and the thought of them possibly getting in trouble for their own mistake makes a or far more accurately a come across your face...

Is feeling like that a sign it's time for a vacation?

That's a normal day at work for me. And vacation's still 3 weeks off.

I used to get that way about denying people tickets for Rated-R movies. I was all "HAHA SUCKER! You're only 15/you forgot your ID/all your friends got signed permission forms and you didn't so you have to miss out! TAKE THAT!".
"I don't have to take this abuse from you, I've got hundreds of people dying to abuse me."

I don't know about a vacation, but I would consider it a hint to avoid gun shows for a while.

I would eventually start to feel that way toward customers in my last two jobs...if somebody asked for something and we were out of it, I would feel this joyful glow spread throughout my body as I cheerfully informed them that we were all out. Sorry. Next!

Truth be told, I hated that I felt that way, but I guess it was just a product of being overworked and stressed out. If someone wanted something we were out of, then I wouldn't have to move to go fetch it, I could just stand still for another five seconds until the next customer stepped up.

You mean that feeling isn't a job perk???

One of the best and most satisfying things about my job is that I get to suspend people's accounts! My coworkers still get nervous when I start cackling with glee whenever I suspend someone.

"Oh? You want to blatantly disregard the rules?" <SUSPEND!!!>

"You're calling us all sorts of dirty names and then relisted an item we told you not to?" <SUSPEND!!!>

And of course then it happened... the supervisor made me start working in the reinstatement queues... "But I suspended them for a reason! I don't want to give them their account back!!!"

Of course, if they get suspended again, we can basically tell them where they can stick their pleas for reinstatement and if they're persistent, we even have a response that says that we will ignore/delete anything else they send to us.

I get that way whenever someone calls and yells at me, telling me that our company "Ruined their dogs <insert holiday>". Gleeful cackling ensues. Off the phone mind you.

And I just got off of vacation. Didn't help that feeling any. Heck, it made it worse.

Maybe it's a sign you're enjoying your job.

Oh it's such a good feeling to deny customers stuff, especially when it's the hardcore gamers and toy collectors. Since they were some of the worst SCs I had to deal with, it became a bit of guilty pleasure to make them cry and whine when they didn't get their way.
