  • i'm so not looking forward to running my end of day

Ugh, tonight has been hellish... we had 2 cards where the banks had errors where we couldn't process the cards (both of them capital ones incidently) and of course being midnight on friday there was no way to call them to get a manual authorization number so I had no way to check the guests in except to get a physical imprint and tell the computer they were cash guests paying zero deposit at check in... this is fun because I know it will throw off my end of day reports and it will take me forever to balance everything.

well, considering that I better get started... I have to have that finished, my express check out portfolios assembled and delivered all before the first wake-up call goes out in... 50 minutes... oh joy, if I don't post tomorrow it will be because this report has killed me.

on the bright side, I was able to sneak in my dvd player and hook it up to the lobby tv, so I've been watching Babylon 5 all night rather than the crappy late night TV... it is the only thing that has made the night tolerable.

yay, it was close enough that I could just close it and let the bookkeeper deal with it. It didn't kill me like I thought it was going to... checking these people out though may be another matter.

Oh and guess what, we had another invalid card on a reservation that no-showed... this is becoming an alarming trend.

Ugh... That's doesn't bode well. I've a reservation for a hotel in Lincoln NE next weekend, and I've made a point of making certain my Capital One card has enough clear on it to pay for it.

It'll suck if they are having problems...

if it makes you feel better, we suspect it was a telecom problem... not sure whether it was us or Capital One, but in the morning when both rooms checked out there was no problem running the cards.
