  • I'm sorry for that, I'm new here, no one told me!

I started on Friday working at a US gov. agency. Today I went through a security gate like I did on Friday. I pull up, show my badge, and the guard glares at me. He says something so I roll my window down because I can't hear him.

"ROLL YOUR WINDOW DOWN BEFORE REACHING THE GATE!!! WE GO THROUGH THIS EVERY DAY!!

Sorry, geez, who put the bug up your butt?? No one told us that at orientation! No one said anything on how to properly going through the gates!

That sucks. It's like the customers who claim they are regulars, but yell at you if you don't know something. If you are a regular, like you claim to be, you would know that I'm new.

Yay for lack of information about how things work at work! Don't you just love it?

lol....that sounds like what I've been sometimes dealing with at my office assistant job. Most people in our congregation understand that I'm relatively new and don't know quite everything yet, but I think others expect me to be on top of things and don't always want to hear "I don't know".

Do you just love that when they leave out important information like that, when you were doing orientation?

Ha. Waaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day when I did my two week stint at the layaway counter at KMart, no one told me how to do special vouchers for the local halfway house or that when I'm working by myself I wasn't allowed to leave the building for breaks or lunch.

Yep. See why I didn't stay long?

It's probably not an actual rule, just that the guards like it that way.
