New Policy

I like our new company policy. For those in the portland area, this affects all Plaid Pantries.



New hours!
Morning Shift: 7am-3:30pm: Break at 1:00-1:30pm
Swing: 1pm-10:00pm break at 3:00pm-3:30 pm
Grave: 10:00pm-7:00am, break at 3:00am-3:30 am.

The greatness of this? I get to close the store at 3:00-3:30 am, and not do work.

Always before its been your breaks are when there are no customers, just as long as you get stocking/cleaning done. Since your by yourself, and sometimes you get lousy co-workers, that might mean lots and lots of breaks as you stock only what you sold, or no breaks as you desperatly try to catch up from swings laziness.

I'd rather not talk about legal rights, blah blah blah, belive me, most stores get far more then the hour break, hell some nights are so slow and great co-workers I could easily get 3-4 hours of nothing with no customers. (rare, but it happens).

Anyway, under the new work week, we get an extra half-hour, but it means that I'm at work for an extra hour. (No paid break).

It really doesn't effect any store too much. There be other workers at the store during the 1:00 break for morning and 3:00 pm break for swing. Just means at 3:00-3:30 am, Plaid Pantry, for once, will be offically closed.

You're lucky. Missouri doesn't HAVE legally required breaks. I was kicked out of "The Convenience Store That Thinks It's QuickTrip" because the owner didn't like the fact that I had spare time on the clock.
