So, for those of you wondering, I am now a casual field tech, mainly doing system upgrades and installs. Easy stuff for me.
So I get to my location (a bank), sort of a trial by fire situation, and I'm getting a little orientation taken care of (making notes, given examples, etc.) Just as we finish up, our IBM liason comes and tells us that their central server crashed. Aaaaand just to make us go "wha?", there is no backup.
So I'm sitting back, talking to our other techs while the IBM liason and the bank manager try and figure things out.
Final verdict: No upgrade doable. So I get paid 3 hours for sitting on my butt chatting for an hour. I'll take it!
